Department of physics was started in September 1991 with the establishment of the college. The department offers 3-year degree courses to the students in physics.Physics is a branch of pure science, dealing with the study and analysis of physical phenomena that takes place around us, the nature of the forces responsible for them and accurate measurement of the physical parameters involved there interdependence and the laws governing them This leads to a better understanding of the universe, we live in.
Physics is an experimental and theoretical science that systematically studies the laws of nature BSc is an important stage for science education and research in India. The BSc (Physics) course aims to impart the students with fundamental and hand of knowledge in physics
Physics has been taught at the college level by the lecture method together with laboratory exercises, aimed at verifying concept taught in the lectures. By trial and error, they learn to change their preconceptions about phenomena in physics and discovers the underline concepts. One primary goal of physics education research is to develop pedagogical techniques and strategies that will help students learn physics more effectively and help instructors to implement these techniques. The revised courses given of student centric nature and help the stakeholders to understand the basic laws of nature and develop necessary skills
Department of physics organised two days National conference on Recent trends in physics and laser technology, one day workshop on revised syllabus in physics in twice 2013 & 2017 one day National workshop on students solar Ambassador in 2019. One day Webinar on the impact of recent development in physics on society 2021. One day National seminar on National science day in 2021. E- content development available on YouTube for B Sc 2nd year and third year students
Currently there are three faculty members headed by Dr. D K kendre, assisted Dr. M A Giri. Dr. V S Jadhav is contract basis teacher. The department also has one research guide and four research scholars working in thick film, thin film and material science with amenities for synthesis and characterization of thin film.
