The college has history of more than three decades. It was established in 1991 by the parent organization, Vimukta Jati Seva Samitee, Vasantngar. Though the college is located in rural, backward, hilly area and remote place, it has as it's backbone an excellent infrastructure. The classrooms are made appropriate for teaching-learning experience using ICT, well equipped laboratories, rich library and all other general facilities for students. The teaching learning programs are marked with personal mentoring, students are encouraged to work in collaborative teams and learn from peers. We impart formal education with a difference even as we work within the constraints of a traditional university system. Here in the college campus students are groomed for curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for excellence. Our efforts were acknowledged by NAAC, Bangalore re-accreditating our college with 'B' Grade, score of 2.16 CGPA and College Academic Audit from S. R. T. M. University, Nanded has given ‘A’ Grade. The college has Vision and Mission of imparting education to the youth to create responsible, patriotic citizen to build secular democratic nation.

              Gramin Mahavidyalaya is an inspiring institution that leads the way in research and innovation. The college has a reputation in pioneering and offering research facilities in different subjects leading to Ph.D. degree, Guest lectures by the experts, seminars, workshops, conferences, research paper writing and publications are regular features of our college, so our college enables students to develop research aptitude in an innovative way. The college has healthy and innovative practices such as Student Teacher Guardianship, Alumni Association, Career Guidance and Remedial Coaching etc. We have a separate cell to help SC, ST, OBC and Minority students to obtain jobs and services besides developing their all round personality.

              We have strong and well equipped units of NSS which enforce and execute the extension activities like health awareness, cleanliness, blood donation camp, literacy derive program and rain water harvesting. We feel proud to provide highly inspiring and qualified faculty who are always ready to help students in their journey. The college is the recipient of the Best Examination Centre Award (2010-11).
